Job Description
Converged Technologies Engineer/Technician
Responsibilities
*Technical and Engineering responsibilities including installation and service of traditional and VoIP telephony platforms including associated application platforms (unified communications, unified messaging, collaboration servers, etc)
*Design of complex voice and data solutions touching all layers of the OSI model
*Mentoring and training of peer technical staff on converged technologies
Desired Skills/Requirements
*Expert level knowledge of traditional telephony technologies including but not limited to ISDN PRI, FXO, FXS, T1/E1 carrier voice and data services
*Associate level knowledge of key, PBX, hybrid and VoIP telephony platforms
*Associate level knowledge of network technologies including but not limited to LAN/WAN, routing, multi-layer switching, security, wireless
*High level troubleshooting and analytical skills; experience with packet analysis using Wireshark
*Associate level knowledge of network protocols and standards including but not limited to TCP/IP, IPv4, DHCP, SIP, FTP, STP, EIGRP, RIPv1, RIPv2, QoS (ToS/CoS), IPSEC, RTP, 802.1q/p, 802.11, 802.3, etc
*Associate level knowledge of I.T. infrastructure including but not limited to server hardware/software, workstation hardware/software, MS Windows OS platforms, Linux OS platforms, etc
*Cisco CCNA or equivalent work experience highly desired
*CompTIA CTP or equivalent work experience highly desired
*CompTIA A+ or equivalent work experience highly desired
*CompTIA Net+ or equivalent work experience highly desired
*Experience with NEC telephony and application platforms (SV8100, SV8300, SV8500) highly desired
*Experience with NEC Sphericall telephony and application platforms highly desired
*Experience with AVST Voice Mail and IVR platforms highly desired
*Experience with Digium telephony and application platforms highly desired
*Experience with network equipment from Cisco, Adtran, HP, Extreme highly desired |
